Mangalore, April 6, 2012 : K. T. Shailaja Bhat, the president of the Zilla Panchayat, said that Rs. 192 lakh has been released for the development of SC colonies in Mangalore, Bantwal, Belthangady, Puttur, and Sullia.
Rs. 10 lakh has been earmarked for the Alangaya Koraga Colony in Vittal and will be spent on developing the Beejatadakada Road. A sum of Rs. 6 lakh each has been earmarked for the development of SC colonies in Manchi, Veerakamba, Shambur Sanna Kukku Kandaya Moole Colony, and Balepuni SC Colony.
A sum of Rs. 6 lakh each has been earmarked for the supply of water to SC colonies in Badagadapadav-Karenki, Bottlayi Road, Kompadavu, Muthur, Pakabettu, and others.
A sum of Rs. 10 lakh has been earmarked for the improvement of roads and drains in Pakabettu, Rs. 10 lakh to improve the community hall in Kalasabailu SC Colony, and Rs. 6 lakh for improvement of roads and drains in Kotekar Nadar SC Colony.
Rs. 10 lakh has been earmarked for the development of Ajaladi road in Mundoor, and Rs. 6 lakh has been earmarked for Balnadu, Ammunje, and Ajjikala SC colonies in Puttur.
Rs. 6 lakh has been earmarked for developing roads in Kallamanja SC Colony and Rs. 6 lakh for Majalu Gana Moole Road, Sampa – Manchakatte, Ajjavara Colony Road, Bedradi-Puthya, and Jalsoor Colony Road in Sullia.
The government has also released a special grant of Rs. 45 lakh under the Sustainability Scheme to re-construct a connecting bridge over Kapila River, which collapsed during the previous monsoons.
