Fr Malk Walder to be conferred Goa Konkani Academy Award

Mangalore, April 25, 2013:  Fr Mark Walder, Parish Priest of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour Church, Gantalkatte has been chosen for the Madhav Shanbagh Konkani Language Lifetime Achievement Award for the year 2013.


markvalde 1The Award is given by Goa Konkani Academy every year to a personality outside Goa who has rendered valuable contribution to Konkani language and culture.


Fr Walder is also the former editor of Raknno Konkani weekly. The Award presentation ceremony will be held at Konkani Vidya Kendra, Shaktinagar on April 27 at 5 pm under the joint auspices of the Goa Konkani Academy and Konkani Bhas ani Sanskriti Pratishtan.


Pundalik N Nayak, President of the Academy, Basti Vaman Shenoy, Founder President of Vishwa Konkani Kendra and others will participate.
