Mangalore, Nov 12, 2013: Mangalore North MLA Mohiuddin Bava said that the government has sanctioned the amount of Rs 165.60 crore for the proposed project of a fishing port at Kulai.
Speaking at the press meet held at Press Club on Nov 12, Tuesday, he said the Central government has made a dream come true of the fishing community by funding the amount of Rs 124.20 crore (75%), while Mangalore Port Trust will fund Rs 33.12 crore and state government will fund Rs 8.28 crore for Rs 165.60 crore project.
He also said that the estimations for the project has been discussed at the meeting held under the leadership of state fisheries Minister K Abhaychandra Jain, NMPT officials and the fisheries department.
He also said that the project requires 9.57 acre of land and in connection to it, the survey has been also carried out. The fund for various minor projects in connection to the fisheries department has been sanctioned and work will be carried out immediately.
He also said that the land for the fish and vegetable markets will be constructed in Kulur and Kavoor regions. A building has been taken on rent has been located near the Suratkal Railway Station for the establishment of RTO.
The Funds have also been sanctioned for the construction and repair of roads works coming under my constituencies, he said.
