Mangalore, May 15, 2012 : Karavali Bellimandala Film Society of Mangalore will screen short films and films in local languages on the third Saturday of every month at Bharathiya Vidhya Bhavan at 5:30 p.m.

Making the above announcement at Press Club on May 15, Tuesday, Vijayakumar Kodialbail, president of the Karavali Bellimandala Film Society, said that the society will show the Tulu film Gaggara, directed by Shivadwaj, on May 19, Saturday. This movie won the national award of 2008 – 09. M. K. Mutt, who played a role in the movie, had won the state award for Best Supporting Actor. The public can watch this movie free of charge, he added.

He also said that the society will show movies such as Gubbacchi, Beary, Gulabi Talkies, and other films on the third Saturday of every month.

Speaking about Karavali Bellimandala Film Society, Joint Secretary P. Nithyananda Rao said that a group of film enthusiasts launched this society 3 years back to encourage people to watch and appreciate movies. Those interested in joining the society must pay a membership fee of Rs. 200.


Anil Navoor, Prof. H. Jayanth, and Jagadish S. were also present at the press conference.
