Mangalore, November 8: Fr. Muller Medical College Hospital (FMMCH) organized National Cancer Awareness Day, as part of which a women’s health check up camp and a seminar was organized under the title “Prepare, Preserve, and Prevent Cancer” by the nursing department under the guidance of Sr. Aileen.
Sr. Mariette B. S., the provincial superior of Mangalore, was the chief guest. Highlighting the importance of health, she said that women are good at remembering the health requirements of others and forgetting their own.
Fr. Denis D’Sa, the administrator of FMMCH, delivered the welcome address. Fr. Richard Coelho, the administrator of FMMCH, presided over the event and lauded the interest shown by the delegates to gain more knowledge. A large number of nuns participated in the programme. Sr. Aileen proposed the vote of thanks.
Oncology Surgeon Dr. Rohan Gatty delivered an informative speech on uterus cancer and Dr. Prema of the obstetrics and gynecology department spoke on breast cancer. The health check up camp was on till 5:00 p.m., and a number of women gained benefits from it.
