Mangaluru, May 17, 2016 : Vijay Kumar Shetty, President of Netravathi Rakshana Samyukta Samithi has informed that several institutions, organisations, including bus employees and autorickshaw drivers associatons have pledged their voluntary support to the May 19 bundh in the district demanding a halt to the Yettinahole project works.
Speaking to reporters here on May 17, Tuesday, Shetty lashed out at District in-charge Minister B Ramanatha Rai and alleged that the Minister who was well aware of the problems confrontng the district, was only trying to save his chair instead of solving the problems.
On the complaint of the minister that the protestors against Yettinahole had failed to turn up at a meeting convned to discuss the issue, Shetty said the meet was convened on Vijaya Dashami Day making it impossible for the activists owing to some other pre-ouccupaton. He urged the Minister to fix another date to disccuss the project with the CM and that they were ready to go to Bengaluru for the purpose.
