Udupi, Jan 24,2013: Deputy Chief Minister and State BJP President, has rubbished rumours regarding the downfall of the BJP government and has said that it would definitely not see a downfall, but would complete its full term.
He was speaking to reporters during his visit to Brahmavar on January 23, Wednesday. The Deputy CM also refused to comment on the oft-repeated statement of the BJP rebels that the government would see a downfall. There have been predictions regarding the end of the BJP even during the prime ministership of Indira Gandhi, he recalled.
On the demand put forth by legislator Haratal Halappa for Eshwarappa to quit following corruption charges, the Deputy CM said probably Halappa had wrongly mentioned his name instead of that of Yeddyurappa. Eshwarappa said a new state BJP chief would soon be appointed.
The Deputy CM also offered special prayers and pooja at Om Shree Mahashakti Brahmakaara Swaroopini Aadi Maasthambika temple. Several BJP leaders including Udupi MLA Raghupathi Bhat, Udupi District BJP Chief Uday Kumar Shetty, G Shanker of G Shanker Family Trust, were present.
