Eighth Kalakar Puraskar conferred on noted instrumentalist Norbert Gonsalves

Mangalore, Oct 20, 2012 : Norbert Gonsalves has bagged the Carvalho Ghorannem – Thomas Stephens Konkani Kendr – Mandd Sobhann Eighth Kalakar Puraskar. Mandd Sobhann will be conferring this award on him in recognition and appreciation of his contribution to music.


nobert Norbert Gonsalves is the only instrumentalist who plays small instruments such as tamki, moroccos, kott’ttiyo, taal, painzannam, and khinnkule.

The award comprises Rs. 25,000, a trophy, and a citation.

Hemacharya, editor-in-chief of Daijiworld weekly, will present the award at Kalaangan on Nov 4, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. on the occasion of Mandd Sobhann’s 131st monthly theatre.

The Goa-based Swarashree Troupe comprising 22 artists will present Geet Mandovi Zuvarichem on this occasion.
