Mangalore, Nov 13, 2013: Dr M Mohan Alva, chairman of Alvas Educational Institution nominates Dr B A Viveka Rai, a veteran scholar, researcher and writer as the President of Alva’s Vishwa Nudisiri Virasat to be scheduled at Vidyagiri campus, Moodbidri from December 19 to 22 Dec.
Speaking at the press meet held at Press Club on Nov 13, Wednesday, he said that Dr Rai has been the Former Vice- Chancellor of Hampi Kannada University and Mysore Open University has been chosen as the president with consensus for the four day international festival and symposium on Kannada language, state and culture.
He also said that a grand procession depicting the rich and vivid culture of Karnataka will be held as a part of inaugural ceremony to be held on Dec 19, evening.
During the ceremony the former presidents of previous Nudisiri’s will be honoured. The event will comprise of conferences on Literature, Folk culture, Students and Agriculture which will be held in four venues, while cultural programmes will be held at 10 different venues simultaneously in the 100 acre land from evening. A total of 55 committees have been formed for the smooth functioning of overall event.
