Donation details to be stored in special software – ZP CEO Dr. Vijayaprakash

Mangalore, Sep 1, 2012 : Addressing the gathering at a special ceremony organized jointly by the Department of Public Instructions and DK Zilla Panchayat at DIET to honor the district’s best SDMCs, ZP CEO Dr. K. N. Vijayaprakash said that details of donations given to government schools will be stored in special software.

 

He also announced that a special program called Krishi Darshana has been launched to expose government school children to farm life. He also said that the funds received through Sarva Shiksha Abhiyana this year will be used to construct compound walls, adding that government schools in DK have received Rs. 5.50 crore as donations from the public and also from MPs’ and MLAs’ funds.

Speaking on the occasion, Anand, assistant director of the education department for Mysore Division, expressed his appreciation of the School Development Monitoring Committees (SDMCs) and the role they have played in developing government schools. DK government schools are doing well without expecting too much financial assistance from the government, he added. He also urged authorities concerned to make sure that land, which is registered in the name of donors, is registered in the name of the schools.

Adinath Jain, president of the Devasya Padur SDMC, received the felicitation and said that, although their school has only 38 children, there is a strong bond among teachers, parents, students, and SDMC members. Vishnu Bhat, president of the Perlampady School SDMC, said that the felicitation has greatly encouraged SDMCs.

Nineteen SDMCs were felicitated on this occasion.
