Mangalore, Oct 23, 2012: The district unit of the Congress party met at Shanthi Kiran in Bajjodi under the leadership of Ramanath Rai, president of the district Congress.
Addressing the party workers, senior Congress leader Janardhan Poojary said that the twin convention recently held under the leadership of Rajya Sabha MP Oscar Fernandes was very successful, adding that party workers proved their unity on that occasion. Remembering Karnad Sadashiv on this occasion, Mr. Fernandes said that, although Karnad worked for the welfare of the SC/ST communities, none of his community people were present at the hour of his death. Recalling the services of Kudmul Ranga Rao, he said that Rao donated all his property to the welfare of the poor. He urged Congress workers to follow in their footsteps.
MLA Ramanath Rai also spoke on the occasion.
