Mangalore, Feb 17, 2012: Dinesh S. P. the treasurer of Shimoga District Congress, will be the Congress candidate for the Southwest Graduates’ Constituency, which comprises Shimoga, Chikmagalur, Udupi, Kodagu, and DK as well as two taluks in Davanagere.
Mr. Dinesh,speaking at the press meet held at District Congress Office on Feb 17, Friday says that he is quite confident of winning the legislative council elections. He has also promised priority to Kannada speakers in employment, law graduates for sub inspectors posts, common syllabus and centralized valuation for all universities in Karnataka, and legal cells in all departments.
He also said that only 45,000 of the 15 – 17 lakh graduates in the region have registered themselves in the constituency.
The elections are scheduled to be held from June 10 to June 12.
Congress members like Vijay Kumar Shetty, Suresh Ballal, Sadashiva, T K Sudhir, Praveen Chandra Alva and others were present.
