Udupi, Aug 21, 2025: Hindu organization leader Mahesh Shetty Timarodi has been taken into custody by the police in connection with a case filed for making derogatory remarks against BJP National General Secretary B.L. Santosh.

Following this, the Brahmavar police have now arrested and brought him into custody, according to reports.

In connection with the clash that occurred in front of a private hospital at Ujire, Hindu organization leader Mahesh Shetty Thimarodi and Girish Mattannanavar appeared before the Beltangady police station for inquiry yesterday.
A notice had been issued to Thimarodi along with 16 other accused in Crime Nos. 76/77/79/2025 registered at the Beltangady police station, directing them to appear at 10 am on August 20. However, they presented themselves at the station at 5 pm on Wednesday, August 20.
Three separate cases have been registered against Thimarodi, including a suo motu case for unlawful assembly in front of the hospital, assault on media personnel, and derogatory remarks against the media. The inquiry is currently being conducted by Beltangady Inspector Subbapur Math.
