Dharmasthala, Aug 8, 2025: The Dharmasthala case involving the alleged burial of hundreds of bodies has taken another twist. An anonymous complainant, who had earlier identified 13 locations, has now pointed out new sites, prompting the Special Investigation Team (SIT) to initiate fresh search operations there.
The search at the 13th site shown by the key witness on the first day—located in the open area near the Netravati bathing ghat—remains incomplete, and no digging took place there on Friday. Meanwhile, the SIT investigating the case ventured into the forest area of Boliyar village in Dharmasthala on Friday for further searches.
The witness guided SIT officials deep into the forest near Boliyar to show them the new location. Puttur Sub-Divisional Officer Stella Varghese, SIT SP Jitendra Kumar Dayama, and other officials accompanied the team. Only five to six workers joined the team in entering the forest. The case is growing more intriguing with each passing day.
