Expressing concern over the increasing incidents of landslides and mudslips across the district, Darshan directed officials to closely monitor all vulnerable locations. He said residents living in houses facing potential landslide threats should be evacuated as a precaution, if necessary.

The Deputy Commissioner also instructed officials to immediately implement temporary protective measures, including placing sandbags in landslide-prone areas, even on private properties if required.

Emphasising prompt disaster relief, he directed that compensation cheques be handed over within 24 hours to the families of those who lose their lives in natural calamities. Adequate arrangements should also be made to accommodate people displaced by rain-related disasters.

Darshan further instructed the Fire and Emergency Services, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) to remain on standby for emergency operations.

He also called for immediate clearance of debris in the event of landslides on major highways, including the Charmadi, Sampaje, and Shiradi ghat stretches, and directed officials to keep the necessary machinery ready for rapid deployment.

Zilla Panchayat CEO Narwade Vinayak Karbhari, Additional Deputy Commissioner Raju K, and other officials attended the review meeting.
