DVS campaigns heavily for Udupi – Chikmagalur by polls

Udup, March 6, 2012 : CM D. V. Sadananda Gowda campaigned heavily for the Udupi – Chikmagalur Lok Sabha by polls on March 5 Monday at Hosmar in Karkala by participating in public meetings, visiting temples, and seeking votes for V. Sunil Kumar, the BJP candidate for the by polls.

Participating in the Taximen and Autorickshaw Association meeting in Udupi, he said that the Congress has done nothing for the common people during its 55 years in power. He promised the taxi and autorickshaw drivers that he will consider all their demands.

Speaking about the Karnataka Guarantee of Service to Citizens Act, he said that it has been introduced on a trial basis in 4 districts and will be implemented in 30 districts all over the state from April 2. He also said that the state government has launched intensive programs to upgrade urban as well as rural roads across the state and that Rs. 10 crore has been sanctioned for each constituency in Udupi. He further said that that the conversion of the Suratkal -Kundapur road into a four-lane road will be completed by the next one and a half years.

He then visited Perdur Kulala Bhavan, Shivapadi Umamaheshwari Temple, Padmavathi Kalyana Mantapa Volakadu, Beedinagudde, and Malpe Bus Stand and made public speeches. Local Congress members also joined the BJP on this occasion.

Mendon, the Kaup MLA; MLC Kota Shrinivas Poojary; Uday Kumar Shetty, the Udupi BJP leader; Yashpal Suvarna; Sudhakar Shetty; Devdas Hebbar; and many local members of the BJP were also present.
