Mangalore, November 18: Congress spokesperson Mr. Hegde told reporters at a press meet held in the office of the district Congress on Thursday that he wanted to know if B. S. Yeddyurappa, whom he referred to as “the most corrupt chief minister of the state,” had secretly denotified the land surrounding these structures.

He further stated that he has decided to write a letter to the chief secretary, government of Karnataka, for details of land belonging to the Vidhana Soudha, Vikasa Soudha, MS Building, Kumara Kripa Guest House, and High Court, under the Right to Information Act.

He said the Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa has not followed any laws to allot land for members of his family. But the CM claims that the land purchased by his family was legal and ready to face any trial if required.  Mr. Yaddyurappa has not back lashed to denotify land acquired by the government for the benefit of his family.

He also said that the government has to inform the people exactly how much of land the Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board (KIADB) has acquired in various places in Karnataka including Bangalore, Mangalore, Shimoga, and Mysore for various purposes, how of that land has been denotified, and how of that land is being used for the purpose for which it was acquired.

Mr. Hegde said that the people of the state would also like to know exactly who the beneficiaries of the 79 sites recently distributed by the Mangalore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) are.

Referring to Shoba as a “disgrace to her home district” for her alleged involvement in the land scam, he said that she is now telling cock-and-bull stories to cover it up. He also remarked that Shoba should wash the feet of Janardhan Poojary and drink the water because he never abused power in his entire political career of 40 years.

Mr. Hegde, a former activist of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), questioned senior RSS leader Prabhakar Bhat whether he still supports B. S. Yeddyurappa. He said that Mr. Bhat should clarify whether the RSS has struck any deal with the BJP to cover up its scams. He also questioned Hindu religious leaders if they are still ready to support the CM.

Vijayakumar Shetty, the former MLA; T. K. Sudhir, the youth Congress leader; and Ashraf, the president of Sevadal, were also present at the press meet.
