Cruise vessel Brilliance of the Seas calls at NMP

Mangalore, Apr 1, 2012: M. V. Brilliance of the Seas, a giant luxury cruise vessel, called at New Mangalore Port (NMP) on April 1 Sunday. It is the largest cruise vessel ever to call at the port.


The vessel is 196m long and had 1962 passengers and 860 crew members on board.

1600 passengers decided to take a ground tour arranged by Lia Travels, My Trip Guide, and Nirmala Travels to places such as the cashew processing units, 1000 Pillar Temple, Lord Gomateshwara Statue, Soans Farm, St. Aloysius Chapel, Gokarnanatha Temple, Kadri Temple, Pilikula, and others. 


Dr. P. Tamilvanan, the chairman of NMPT, the traffic manager, and other NMPT officers presented a bouquet to the captain of the cruise vessel Adam Sharp, who gave an excellent feedback of the services at the port. Mr. Sharp said that they were impressed by the world class facilities at the port and will bring along many more cruise vessels during the next season. 


The vessel sailed off to Cochin that evening and will call again at NMPT on April 12.
