Mangaluru, Jan 21, 2022: On January 20, Thursday, five more schools in Dakshina Kannada district were temporarily closed for a specific period in the wake of  detection of  Covid-19 infection in some students and teachers. The Education Department has issued an order in this regard.  With the closure of five schools on Thursday, the total number of schools closed due to Covid cases in the district, has risen to ten.

So far 288 students and 43 teachers have tested positive in the district. It may be recalled here that the DC has already issued an order stating that schools with more than five positive  cases will be closed temporarily.

On Thursday, three students of Shriady St Antony school, six students of Nelyad Jnanodaya Bethany English Medium School,  five students of Hira  English Medium School, Permannur have tested positive. In St Aloysius English Medium School, one student of X standard has tested positive and the tenth standard classes have been suspended.
