Congress party’s Seva Dal needs to be rejuvenated - Ivan D’Souza

Mangalore, Oct 23: Haji M. H. Ashraf T. took in charge as the president of Akhila Bharatha Congress Seva Dal during a programme held at the office of the district Congress on Oct 23, Saturday. Nanda Poojary took in charge as the president of the women’s unit. The members of the Seva Dal and the Congress party garlanded the portrait of Narayan Subbarao Hardikar.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ivan D’Souza said on the occasion that the Seva Dal is the main wing of the Congress and can be considered as the Congress’s other name. Stating that the Congress aims at strengthening its Seva Dal, he said that the discipline and patriotic fervor of the members of the Seva Dal will protect the country.

Revealing further details of the Seva Dal, he said that its members are the soldiers of the Congress and work hard for social welfare without any publicity. He also spoke of the necessity of taking the Seva Dal to the booth level so that the Congress will never experience failure.

Ex ZP President Sadananda Poonja said that the Congress is hardly interested in the Seva Dal at present, adding that the Dal’s present condition is because the Congress failed to work for its development. Alleging that Congress activists are interested only in becoming MLAs and do not get involved in its Seva Dal wing, he said that this lack of interest has made the Seva Dal lifeless at present.

M. G. Hegde, Sujatha Ullal, Raghu Poojary, Vishwanath, Sadashiva Ullal, and Seva Dal Chief Convener Bhimashankar were also present.
