Congress making plans for upcoming elections – Ramanath Rai

Mangalore, Sep 7, 2012 : MLA B. Ramanath Rai, president of the DK district Congress, said that the party is making plans for the upcoming assembly constitution elections.

K. H. Muniyappa, state minister for railways and election observer for Mysore division, will visit Dakshina Kannada on September 9, Sunday, he said. Mr. Rai was speaking at the office of the district Congress on September 6, Thursday.

 

He further announced that K. H. Muniyappa will visit all districts under Mysore division, and when he is in DK, he will take part in the district-level party workers’ convention, which is scheduled to be held at 3:00 p.m. at Urwa Church Hall on September 9.

Mr. Rai also said that several state Congress leaders and Rajya Sabha MP Oscar Fernandes will take part in this event.

Stating that booth-level committees have already been formed in the district, he said that the list of the same will be submitted to the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee before September 8. In response to a query, Mr. Rai said that Janardhan Poojary, former minister, has accepted the invitation to take part in the convention, which will be held in Urwa Church Hall.

Several Congress leaders Shashidhar Hegde, Ivan D’Souza, Praveenchandra Alva, Mithun Rai, and others were also present.
