Mangalore, May 11, 2013 : It was celebration galore in the Congress camp in the city on May 10, Friday as news trickled in that senior Congress leader has been chosen as Chief Minister elect of Karnataka.
The party men and leaders led by former mayor Ashraf celebrated the occasion. Later speaking to reporters Ashraf said the people of the state has served a befitting lesson to the BJP in the assembly elections and urged the people to support the Congress even in the next Parliamentary elections.
Another party leader Kallige Taranath Shetty stated that the Congress government would put an end to evil practices like moral policing and will work towards promoting peace and amity in the society, Infrastructure development will also get top priority, he added.
Several party leaders including Interim District Congress President Ibrahim Kodijal, Corporators Praveen Chandra Alva, Shashidhar Hegde, Naveen D’Souza and several others were present.
