Mangalore, Oct 26, 2012: Vinay Kumar Sorake, former MP, announced that the Congress will observe the death anniversary of Indira Gandhi, in commemoration of which the Congress Seva Dal will organize a booth-level convention at Town Hall on Oct 31, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Addressing the press at the District Congress Office on Oct 26, Friday, he said that the objective of the convention is to basically strengthen the Seva Dal, which has devoted itself for service.Further, he said that a representative will be selected from each booth for the national-level convention, and since there are more than 1,500 booths in the district, 1,500 members will be selected to take part in the convention. A total of 54,000 representatives will be selected from all over the state, he added.
Congress leaders such as B. K. Harisprasad, AICC general secretary; M. Veerappa Moily, corporate affairs minister; B. Janardhan Poojary, former union minster; Pramod Pandey, in- charge of the state unit of the Karnataka Congress; MLC S. R. Patil; and others will take part in this event.
Congress leaders such as KPCC General Secretary Ivan D’Souza, Seva Dal District Chief Organizer H. M. Ashraf, and T. K. Sudhir were also present at the press conference.
