New Delhi, Aug 22, 2025: A 362-page coffee table book titled “Temples of Goa – A Spiritual Odyssey” was presented to Prime Minister Narendra Modi by Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on August 19. The announcement was made by Sanjay Prabhu, Chairman, and Sheshgiri KG, Managing Director of Tarjani Communications Pvt. Ltd, Mangaluru, which designed and produced the book. The publication was brought out by the World Konkani Centre, Shaktinagar.
The richly illustrated volume documents 50 temples of Goa, offering detailed insights into their history, legends, architecture, deities, kulavis, festivals and cultural practices. Introductory chapters also cover the state’s history, economy, religion and culture in an engaging, visually supported style. Dr Bharathi Shevgoor, researcher, writer and chief editor of Tarjani Communications, led the project.
Originally published in 2015, the book was reprinted earlier this year by the Government of Goa as part of the 2025 Statehood Day celebrations. Notably, it was the first coffee table book produced by Tarjani Communications, which has since earned a reputation for creating aesthetically designed, research-backed publications.
The presentation of the book to the Prime Minister by the Goa Chief Minister is being hailed as a moment of pride and honour for Tarjani Communications. The publication has been widely appreciated and is regarded as a cultural keepsake.
