Mangalore, Mar 7, 2013: Chaos and confusion prevailed at the Shivabagh ward of MCC during voting on March 7, Thursday when ACP Kavitha and other officials raised objection against political parties setting up their kiosks closer to the polling booth at St Agnes College. Later, the kiosk was shifted 200 metres away from the voting centre.
However, not satisfied with this move, parties demanded that the kiosks be located near the gate itself and finally they were allowed to set up their kiosk at a distance of 30 meters from the booth, after District Election Observer AK Monnappa permitted the same.
In the meantime, there was some confusion at a polling booth in Padavu(West) ward when the names of some of the newly listed voters were found missing from the list. The confusion ended later on when the new list was found. The voters were then once again called to cast their votes.
On the other hand, the Electronic Voting Machine at a booth in Mahakalipadpu ward developed a technical snag and was replaced by another Machine after an hour.
