City police arrest murderers of Ganesh Suvarna

Mangalore, Oct 10, 2012 : The city police have arrested three people in connection with the murder of Ganesh Ram Suvarna, convener of the Sarvajanika Shri Ganeshotsava Samithi in Pumpwell.

It may be recalled that Ganesh Suvarna was found murdered in his house at Valencia in Gorigudda on September 25.

The arrested are Mohith Kumar (20) of Adyar Padavu, Jithin Bhandary (20) of Shaktinagar, and Pavan Kumar (17) of Udayanagar.

The police say that the three murdered Ganesh Suvarna and stole his gold ornaments and a mobile phone. They found their motorbike abandoned near Shri Manjunatheshwara Temple in Kadri. The police have seized stolen ornaments, a mobile phone, and a motorbike worth Rs. 1.3 lakh from the accused.

Manish Kharbhikar, Mangalore police commissioner, told reporters that the motive of the murder was theft. Jagadish of Pumpwell had lodged a complaint at the Mangalore South Police Station, according to which the police had registered a case.
