Christian Association to campaign for JR Lobo in Mangalore South

Mangalore, Apr 30, 2013: Michael Lobo, convener of Mangalore Unit of International Christian Union Association said that the Association members will support Christian community candidates in the upcoming Assembly  election.

Speaking at the press meet held at Press Club on April 30, Tuesday he said that the members of the association will make a  door to door campaign to Christian houses and request  Christians to to cast their votes to Christian candidates. He also said that they will also visit the church priests and organizations to ensure that  100 percent Christian votes go in favour of Congress candidate.

The church attack, pub attack and the  Home Stay attack during the BJP led government rule, has necessitated the Christian community to be strong politically, he said adding it was owing to this reason that the Association decided to support JR Lobo, Congress candidate of Mangalore South constituency.

He further alleged that the BJP which is facing fear of defeat  has been trying to attract Hindu votes by stating the defeat of its candidate Yogish Bhat would be the defeat of the Hindu community.
