Stating that he is fed up of politics, he said that he will not contest any more elections in future. He said that he had submitted his resignation to the chief minister yesterday and that he will send another copy to the CM and his supporters tomorrow.

Revealing that the BSR and the JD(S) have invited him to join them, he said that he has not made any decision so far.

Stating that caste politics was initially  confined only to the Gowdas and Lingayats, he said that the BJP has lit the caste fire in the coastal region too. Stating that BJP workers of Udupi and DK never thought in terms of caste, he said that the Billawa community whole-heartedly supported Nalin Kumar Kateel when he contested. When Jayaprakash Hegde and Sunil Kumar were contesting, he had visited several Bunt homes and urged them to vote for Kumar, he added.

When asked if he is willing to apologize to minority communities, which had suffered greatly during the communal riots that took place when the BJP was in power, he said that communal riots have been taking place even before the BJP came to power, but the BJP did its best to control them.
