Bus driver brutally hacked to death near Paldane church

Mangalore, May 19, 2013: The driver of a city bus was brutally assaulted by a gang of about seven persons, resulting in the death of the former. The incident was reported from near Paldane church on May 18, Saturday night.

The deceased is Prasanna (30) hailing from Vamanjoor and a driver of route number 21 bus. The incident took place when he was on his way home and had stopped near Paldane Church to attend nature’s call. As per reports, a group of nearly seven persons began assaulting him and fled the scene when Prasanna lay unconscious on the ground.

He was immediately rushed to Tejaswini Hospital where he breathed his last.

A personal rivalry is said to be the cause of the attack. The body has been shifted to Wenlock. Kankanady police have registered a case.
