Udupi, May 2013 Over 40 per cent polling was registered in five assembly constituencies of Udupi district  by May 5, Sunday afternoon.


Udupi Assembly constituency recorded a maximum  turnout of 45 per cent so far. Polling is underway in 1038 polling stations in 668 assembly constituency.


In Kundapur, independent candidate Halady  Srinivas Shetty cast his vote in a polling booth in the town. Kishore Kumar, the BJP candidate exercised his franchise at UBMC School.



Udupi, May 5, 2013: 
Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji of Pejawar Mutt, Sudhaker Shetty, BJP candidate from Udupi, Oscar Fernandes, Rajya Sabha MP were among the first few who exercised their franchise in polling booths in Udupi district.


Voting which began on a slow pace across 1038 polling stations  of Udupi, picked up after 8 am.

The Pejawar seer exercised his franchise at North School, while BJP candidate Sudhaker Shetty voted at Adi Udupi Higher Primary School. Oscar and his wife exercised their franchise at Vivekananda School, Ajjarkad.
