Bodybuilder Anand Suvarna wins Mr. Karavali title

Udupi, May 14, 2012 : Anand Suvarna Malpe, a bodybuilder at Six Pack Multi Gym in Manipal, won the Mr. Karavali title in the inter-district bodybuilding competition held at Padubidri on May 13, Sunday. He also received a gift hamper from Sharan Electronics in Padubidri and a cash prize of Rs. 15,000.

 

 

 

 

Soujan Shetty of Shri Ramanjaneya Gym in Ambalapady won the Best Poser title, a cash prize of Rs. 5,000, and a gift hamper.

The inter-district bodybuilding competition was held in six categories, and the top winner of each category received cash prizes of Rs. 3,000 each. The second prize winners received Rs. 2,000 each, the third prize winners received Rs. 1000 each, the fourth prize winners received Rs. 750 each, and the fifth prize winners received Rs. 500 each.

Kaup MLA Lalaji R. Mendon distributed the prizes at the valedictory ceremony held on the evening of May 13, Sunday.

The organizers also felicitated Madhav Poojary, president of the National Bodybuilders’ Federation; Govardhan Bangera, president of the Udupi District Bodybuilders’ Association; and Naresh Kannagar, trainer at Flex Your Muscles Gym, on this occasion.

Ravindranath G. Hegde, a member of the Coastal Development Authority (CDA); Francis D’Souza and Mithun R. Hegde, the entrepreneurs; Jitendra Furtado, president of the organizing committee; several people’s representatives; and those associated with the gym and body building industry were present.
