Mangalore, Aug 19, 2012: Billawas Dubai and Northern Emirates, Shri Gokarnatha Kshethra of Kudroli, and Shri Guru Charitable Trust distributed scholarships worth Rs. 8.5 lakh among 224 students at Shri Gokarnatha Temple in Kudroli on August 19, Sunday.
Janardhan Poojary, former union minister and senior Congress leader, inaugurated the event. The guests of honor on the dais were National Billawa Association President Jaya C. Suvarna, Shri Gokarnatha Kshethra President H. S. Sayiram, Deepa Comforts Managing Director Urmila Ramesh Kumar, Shri Guru Charitable Trust President K. Vishwanath Amin, Billawas Dubai and Northern Emirates President Jeethendra Suvarna, Vice President Praveen Kumar Attavar, Education Committee Secretary Uday Kumar Kateel, and others.
In his inaugural address, Poojary lauded the association for helping deserving students and urged the beneficiaries to achieve their goals and contribute part of their income for the education of poor students when they start earning.
President Jeethendra Suvarna spoke about the achievements and activities of Billawas Dubai and Northern Emirates.
The association also distributed medical assistance worth Rs. 2.5 lakh among the needy and felicitated achievers such as Purushottam Poojary, Mamatha Poojary, Sahana Poojary, Sudarshan H. Udupi, and Supritha Poojary on this occasion.
