Mangalore, August 24, 2012: The Besant College team emerged as the champions of Dance Warriors, an intercollegiate dance competition organized by Namma TV in Mangalore. Several colleges in Udupi, Mangalore, and other places had taken part in Dance Warriors competition.
A panel of judges comprising Kishore Amin of Dance India Dance, choreographer Raj Kamal, and music director Guru Kiran selected the Besant College team as the winner of the Dance Warrior finals.
A grand prize of Rs. 50,000 was conferred on the winning team, which also received the Dance Warriors trophy. The runner up was the SDM College team, which received a cash prize of Rs. 30,000 along with the Dance Warriors trophy. The St. Philomena College team was the winner of the third prize. They got a prize of Rs. 15,000 and the Dance Warriors trophy.
The winners of the fourth, fifth, and sixth prize were Canara College Mangalore, Fr. Muller Medical College Mangalore, and Government First Grade College Udupi.
Popular local dance teams such as Boyzone, Single Guys, Ocean Kids, and Rhythm presented their shows on this occasion. The comperers were Reena and Sahil, who kept the audience entertained with their witty dialogues. The sponsors of this event were Swarnaksharee, Isiri Herbals, Shashi Detergents, and others.
Among the dignitaries present were Namma TV Director Shivakiran Shetty, Tulu film director Vijayakumar Kodialbail, Mayor Gulzar Banu, Ajathashathru from the Sompa movie team, Namritha Hegde, and Arvind Bolar, among others.
