Belthangady ‘accident’ case: Victim’s father takes U-turn

Belthangady, Nov 24, 2013: It has been gathered that  Babi Gowda, the father of Dinesh Gowda who was killed in a suspected road accident at Nekkilu on November 20, has decided to go back on his earlier complaint that it was not an accident but a case of murder.

However, Babi Gowda and Siddappa  who were produced before the court the very next day of the incident, had pleaded that their complaint was not proper. They had also appealed the judge to allow them to withdraw their complaint.

The judge has reserved the order in this case. In the meanwhile, Balakrishna Poojari, the Bolero driver, whose vehicle had knocked down bike rider Dinesh Gowda resulting in his death, has been remanded to judicial custody for two weeks.

Earlier, there were allegations that Poojari, who worked in the agriculture division  of  Dharmasthala rural development project  had deliberately caused the accident as Dinesh Gowda  was reportedly close to Prajaprabhutva Vedike chief Mahesh Shetty Timarody who was in the lead in the pro-Sowjanya agitation.
