Bantwal, Aug 16, 2025: In a tragic incident, a well-known fruit trader from Taudugoli near Narigana passed away from a heart attack while on a pilgrimage to the Ajmer Dargah on Friday.
The deceased, identified as 60-year-old Shekhabdulla, was a resident of Taudugoli on the Narigana–Varkady border and had been a lime fruit trader at the Kallapu Global Market in Mangaluru for over four decades.
According to sources, he had travelled to Ajmer three days earlier with friends from Mangaluru. On Friday, shortly after completing darshan at the Dargah, he experienced chest pain and collapsed before medical aid could arrive. He died while being taken to hospital.
Shekhabdulla, known for his annual visits to Ajmer, had suffered a heart attack during a trip there two years ago but survived after timely treatment. His wife had passed away the same year, yet he continued to actively participate in religious and social activities. Friends remember him as a man who channelled personal grief into faith and community service.
His mortal remains were sent by ambulance from Ajmer on Friday and are expected to reach Taudugoli by midnight on Saturday. The funeral will be held at the Taudugoli mosque burial ground.
He is survived by two sons and a daughter.
