Bantwal, April 25, 2013 : Several BJP workers joined the Congress  on April 24, Wednesday in the presence of  Bantwal MLA and Congress candidate B Ramanatha Rai.

They were welcomed into the party by handing over party flags by Rai. Prominent among those who joined the Congress were Nitin, Nikhilesh, Abhilekha, Dinesh and Chidananda who served the BJP in various capacities.


Speaking on the occasion, Rai said the Congress was enjoying unprecedented support in the constituency owing to the several welfare programmes taken up in the constituency under his leadership. The misrule of the BJP government has been forcing party workers to defect to the Congress, he said.


Sudarshan Jain, Bantwal Land Development Bank President, Chandraprakash Shetty, ZP member and others were present.
