Bank Manager Anjana murder case: Accused still at large

Mangalore, May 14, 2013: Investigations into the case of mysterious murder of Anjana (24), Assistant Manager of Syndicate Bank, Katipalla Branch, have not made much headway   even almost a month after the murder.

Police are still clueless regarding the whereabouts of Mahesh, a friend of Anjana in whose rented house at Bejai Kapikad Anjana was found dead on the night of April 18.

Though Mahesh worked at an eatery at Bharath Mall, even two of his roommates whom the police have taken into custody do not know much about him except that he hailed from West Bengal. Though a police team had been sent to Uttar Pradesh, it has not been of much help.

According to sources, Anjana who did her MBA in Kozhikode had joined work at Syndicate Bank about eight months ago. It is also learnt that that she knew Mahesh since student days. The fact that her jewellery were missing has given room for suspicion if it was a murder for gain. Even Anjana’s family does not know much about Mahesh.

Police are trying to track down cell phone calls to gather details regarding Mahesh and are confiding on trapping him at the earliest.
