Mangalore, Aug 17, 2012 : International and domestic flights at Mangalore International Airport were disrupted owing to factors such as fog, rainfall, and poor visibility on August 16, Thursday.
The Dubai to Mangalore Air India flight, which was scheduled to land in Mangalore at 6:20 a.m. on Thursday, was directed to Kozhikoke in Kerala.
The Jet Airways flight from Chennai to Bangalore arrived three hours late. Although it was scheduled to land at 8:00 a.m., it landed at 11:00 a.m. This flight, which was supposed to have left Chennai at 3:30 p.m. was delayed because of certain technical problems.
Faulty landing by Air India Express Filght
An Air India Express flight from Dubai which reportedly made a faulty landing at Mangalore Airport at 6:28 am on Aug 14 left for Abu Dhabi on Thu morn,sources said.
The aircraft flew after changing a tyre which had been damaged in the incident on tue.
Sources said the pilot landed the aircraft 30 metres before the area marked for touch down.
It could have been due to poor visibility or "zero head wind".
Exact reason for landing was not clear.

Airports Authority of India had written to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation(DGCA) to conduct an enquiry into it.
