Mangalore, Mar 1, 2013: KJP District Spokesperson M Hameed Kandak has said there was no need for the  KJP Founder and former CM  B S Yeddyurappa to  prepare any election manifesto for  his party as his developmental works itself will help the party get votes.

Speaking at the press meet held at Press Club on March 1, Friday he said that KJP has chosen ’Coconut’ as party’s symbol. The party has selected candidates to contest in the upcoming local body elections only from 14 wards.

He said that the party has  opted for a ’Coconut’  symbol because it was an essential commodity which is  also used for religious purposes.

Hameed said that Yeddy was the only CM who encouraged development and has an ability to transform state into an ideal one. During his turn, he had sanctioned a sum of Rs 300 crore for the development of Mangalore.

 He also announced the list of candidates contesting for the elections. Santosh - ward 3 Katipalla East, Mohammed Touseef - ward 5 Katipalla north, Praveen Kanchan - ward 9 Kulai, Rahim Angaregudde - ward 10 Baikampady, Chethan Kumar - ward 11 Panambur, Shivraj - ward 12 Panjimogeru, Ranjith V Shetty - ward 18 Kavoor, Geethadas - ward 19 Pachanady, Mariyamma Thomas - ward 35 Padavu, Mary Gibson - ward 39 Falnir, Vishwas K N Singh - ward 40 Court, Sudheer Puthran - ward 45 Port, Jagadeesh Poojary - ward 51 Alape North and Fauzia - ward 60 Bengre.

KJP leaders Shivappa Pachanady, Dr Lawrence D’Souza, K Bhaskar Poojary and Gurucharan Hegde were present.
