BSP demand to legalize land acquired for cultivation

Mangalore, Nov 29, 2013: The district unit of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) staged a protest infront of DC Office on Nov 29, Friday demanding to legalize the land acquired the landless families.

Addressing the protestors, DK unit working president Raghu Dharmasena said that the Congress led government is cheating the farmers and minorities by implementing the anti-farmer policies by providing them with insufficient amount of land for agriculture.

He also said that Dr Ambedkar aimed to distribute of agricultural land to Dalits, but the government has only provided them with only 1.5 cents of land. The lands given to the farmers and minorities are given illegally; hence they must be legalized, so that they can earn their living peacefully. 

The protestors also demanded them to provide the land ownership without delay in order to regularize their land occupation.

They also demanded the government to provide 5 acres of land to Dalits from the Depressed Class Land reservation. No beneficiaries from SC/ST community have received DC manna land till date, hence it must be distributed immediately, he said.
