Mangalore, May 17, 2012: State BJP Yuva Morcha President Sunil Kumar told reporters at a press conference held in the BJP’s office in Mangalore today that the BJP Yuva Morcha will organize a grand Youth Awareness Convention on Nehru Maidan on May 22 to enhance awareness of India’s social and political problems among the youth. 


Mr. Kumar also said that the organizers expect 1 lakh young people to participate in this event. A procession starting from Jyothi Circle at 2:00 p.m. and ending at the venue will mark the beginning of this convention, he added.

The BJP Yuva Morcha is organizing this convention to enhance awareness among youth about issues such as the union government’s policy on  military threats from China, terrorism, corruption, internal security, competency of the Indian Army, Naxalism, and much more. 


Referring to China as a “bigger threat” than Pakistan, Mr. Kumar said that China can attack India any time. Speaking about Naxalism, he said that the twin districts are most affected by Naxal problems, adding that red terrorism is on the rise in the state and Naxal ideology is being spread in the campuses of colleges in DK. 


The organizers have invited Narendra Modi, chief minister of Gujarath; Anurag Thakur, national president of the BJP Yuva Morcha; and Navjot Singh Siddhu, the BJP MP to take part in the convention.


Besides, D. V. Sadananda Gowda, chief minister of Karnataka; B. S. Yeddyurappa, the former chief minister of Karnataka; Ananth Kumar, the general secretary of the BJP; and K. S. Eshwarappa, the state president of the BJP, will also take part in the convention, said Mr. Kumar. 


Kishore Shetty Puttur, president of the district level of the BJP Yuva Morcha; Monappa Bhandary, the BJP spokesperson; and BJP leaders Rajgopal Rai, Devdas Shetty, Nithin Kumar, Raj Gopal Rai, and Raghavendra Rao were also present at the press conference.
