BJP’s problems far from over : MLA U. T. Khader

Mangalore Today News Network

Mangalore, July 14, 2012: Commenting on the newly formed BJP government with Jagadish Shettar as the chief minister, MLA U. T. Khader said that the government that has come to power in Karnataka is not a single-party government, but a coalition government comprising two factions.

Since Shettar has taken over at a time of confusion and dissidence, one cannot expect any development work in the state, he said.

He said that the party has clearly shown that they do not care for the people of DK by first removing the DK-based D. V. Sadananda Gowda from the post of CM and then by not giving any berth in the cabinet to MLAs from the district.

Stating that the BJP’s problems are not over although Shettar has formed a cabinet, he said that portfolios are yet to be allotted to the ministers. Predicting a lot of drama once the portfolios are distributed, he said that nothing much can be expected from these ministers in the following months.

Khader expressed his feelings that the Congress will come back to power because the people are fed up of the BJP. He also said that the BJP and other communal forces can be marginalized once the secular sections of society are strengthened.

He congratulated Kota Shrinivas Poojary on becoming a minister, but expressed regrets that no senior MLA such as Angara and Halady Shrinivas Shetty was considered for a ministerial post.
