Bantwal, April 26, 2013 : MP and BJP National General Secretary Varun Gandhi has said that BJP was strong in coastal Karnataka due to the hard efforts of party workers.
Addressing an election campaign rally in Bantwal on April 26, Friday, Varun who campaigned for the local BJP candidate Rajesh Naik, said Karnataka is a cultured land and added there was the inevitability of bringing the BJP back to power.
Continuing, Varun said he has the confidence that the Bantwal candidate Rajesh Naik if elected would sincerely strive for the development of the constituency. Varun also said that the Karnataka Assembly elections were crucial and that the entire nation was looking towards Karnataka.
District BJP President Padmanabha Kottari launched a tirade against the Congress candidate Ramanatha Rai for his comment that his fight was not against Rajesh Naik, but against Kalladka Prabhaker Bhat. It is Rai’s desperateness that was making him issue such statements, Kottari said.
Udupi District Minister Kota Srinivas Poojari, BJP candidate Rajesh Naik, former MLA Rukmaya Poojari, State BJP Vice President Sulochana GK Bhat, Tungappa Bangera, NB Aboobakker, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, former minister Nagaraj Shetty, Dinesh Bhandari and others were present on the occasion.
