BJP gears up for Udupi – Chikmagalur by polls

Udupi, March 5, 2012 : Addressing reporters at the BJP office, Eshwarappa, the state president of the BJP, said that 1200 BJP members are ready to volunteer at the 1500 booths set up for the Udupi – Chikmagalur by polls.

eswarappa 1 He said that the party will conduct a door-to-door campaign and reach out to the public.

Expressing confidence that his party will emerge victorious, he said that the presence of a JD (S) competitor is beneficial for the BJP because it will divide votes that might otherwise go to the Congress.

Regarding Yeddyurappa demanding that the post of CM be restored to him and internal conflicts within the BJP, he said that these are just rumours as the BJP high command has made it clear that there will be no change of leadership.

Condemning the attack on policemen and journalists by lawyers in the premises of a Bangalore Civil Court, he said that the government has already taken action against this and ordered a judicial probe.
