Mangalore, Oct 12, 2012: The BJP Mahila Morcha organized a protest in front of the DC’s office on Oct 12 Friday against LPG price hike. The protest was preceded by a rally that began at Jyothi and ended at the DC’s office.
Pulasya Rai, president of the Mahila Morcha, said that the Congress government has broken world records for the number of scams it is involved in. Calling the UPA government “corrupt,” Pulasya Rai said that the Congress government has put common people in trouble by increasing the price of LPG. Stating that the UPA government is “anti-people,” she said that the BJP Mahila Morcha is protesting against the hike in LPG with the intention that their voice must reach President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
Stating that the Congress is unfit to rule because it has done nothing, but loot the nation, she urged people to avoid voting for the Congress. She also demanded that the UPA government should withdraw cap on subsidized LPG and reduce LPG prices.
Speaking on the occasion, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel said that Sonia Gandhi is unfit to rule the country because she does not even know the proper time to wear a bindhi. Referring to the PM as Sonia Gandhi’s puppet, he said that the PM has been listening to whatever Sonia Gandhi says without making any objections.
Listing the NDA government’s achievements, he said that Vajapayee had made sure that LPG reached every village because he was concerned about the womenfolk of India. He demanded to know why there is a gas crisis now when there was no gas crisis in Vajapayee’s time.
BJP leaders Shailaja K. T. Bhat, Padmanabha Kottari, and Amitakala were also present.
