BJP Government has ignored development in Suratkal Constituency: Vijay Kumar Shetty

Mangalore, May 2, 2013: Senior Congress leader and former MLA Vijay Kumar Shetty said that BJP government takes the credit and try to fool people with their manifesto without doing any development in Suratkal Constituency.

Speaking at the press meet held at Hotel Deepa Comforts on May 2, Thursday, he said that Suratkal Constituency is lacking proper fish market, proper bus-stand, proper road and proper drainage system.

 

He also said that the total cost of the Thumbay vented dam at the beginning was Rs 45 crores but at present it has increase to Rs 75 crores. BJP government had never contributed for the dam and now who will pay such an amount, he questioned.

The basic necessity of people in district is drinking water and government has failed to complete the dam project. If the BJP government has moral value, they must pay the dam amount, he said.

Congress aims to provide continuous electricity, sports, education and proper drainage system, which has been ignored by BJP government. Congress strongly oppose Nethravathi diversion project

Commenting on the door-to-door campaign, he said that people of the constituency have assured not to open door during BJP’s campaign. Since they have tired of their problem and look for change.
 
Suratkal constituency candidate Moideen Bava promised to provide basic necessity of the people including bus-stand, the fish market, and to establish a fishing Jetty in Kulai.

Congress members Abdul Sathar, Hussain Katipalla, Keshava Salian, Purushotham Chitrapura, Ajith Kumar and Nazeer Ullal were present.
