Mangalore, Aug 24, 2012: The Bearys Cultural Forum (BCF) will organize Educational Scholarship Meet 2012 on August 26, Sunday at Loyola Hall, St. Aloysius PU College.
Making the above announcement at a press conference held today, BCF patron B. M. Mumtaz Ali said that BCF will distribute Rs. 15 lakh in scholarships among 450 students this year. SSLC, PG, degree, medical, nursing, Ayurveda, and BDS students will receive scholarships irrespective of caste, religion, and creed. Criteria such as economic background, family background, and academic excellence will be taken into account while selecting beneficiaries.
BCF will also hold a career guidance seminar on Sunday for school children and will give away scholarships on the same day. Thwaka Ahmed Musliyar, Mangalore Qazi, will offer Du’a on the occasion and Dr. B. K. Yusuf Ali, president of BCF, will preside.
DK DC Dr. N. S. Channappa, Mayor Gulzar Banu, Deputy Speaker N. Yogish Bhat, MLA B. Ramanath Rai, and MLA U. T. Khader will be the guests of honor, he said.
BCF General Secretary Dr. Kaup Mohammed, Scholarship Committee Chairman M. E. Moolur, BCF Vice Presidents Latheef Mulki and Saleem Althaf were also present at the press conference.
