Mangalore, Nov 25, 2013 : Mangalore Police Commissioner Manish Kharbikar has directed all banks in the city to post armed security guards and install CCTV cameras at their ATM centres.
The Commissioner who addressed an emergency meeting in the city in the wake of the brutal attack on a lady bank manager inside an ATM Kiosk at Bangalore recently, has said there should be no compromise on safety aspects and it was the duty of the Banks to not only ensure safety of their ATM machines but also the customers who use the ATM kiosks.
The meeting has also suggested banks to adopt safety measures like message alert system, sound alarm, buffer glass, card access system and adequate lighting around ATM kiosks.
