Apartment at Attavar raided ; cash worth Rs 63 lakh seized

Mangalore, April 30, 2013 : A team of officials led by Deputy Commissioner Harsh Gupta and ACP Jagannath raided an apartment at Attavar here on April 29, Monday night and seized huge amount of cash. It is said the cash was used for political activities in violation of the poll code of conduct.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Sources said nearly Rs 63 lakh cash was seized from the apartment owned by UN Abdul Razak. The raid followed a tip off and the raiding team comprised the sector magistrate, assistant commissioner and election officers.

It has been learnt that the owner could not provide appropriate documents or account for the money. He was engaged in fish business and the apartment is said to be owned by his daughter.

Pandeshwar police have registered a case.
