Annual Festive Season of St.Lawrence Church, Attur-Karkala begins today

Karkala, 24 January 2011: As every year, the annual festive season of St. Lawrence Church, Attur-Karkala begins from Monday, 24th January 2011 with special prayer and holy mass for the health of the sick and afflicted at 3.30 pm. The chief celebrant of the holy Mass is Rev. Fr. Basil Vaz, parish priest of Alangar Church.

 

 

 

On Tuesday, 25th January 2011, there will be masses at 9.30 am and 11.30 am, 1.30 pm (Kannada), 3 pm and 4.30 pm. The main Vespers Word of God service in Kannada  will be celebrated by Most Rev. Dr. Robert Miranda, Bishop of Gulbarga, followed by masses at 8 pm, 10 pm and 12 mid-night. There will be a video presentation at 2 am.

The Annual Feast of St. Lawrence will be celebrated on Wednesday, 26th January 2011. There will be masses at 5.30 am in Kannada, 7 am and 8 am. The solemn feast  mass will be celebrated at 10 am by Most Rev. Dr. Aloysius Paul D’Souza, Bishop of Mangalore. Masses will follow throughout the day at 12.30 pm, 2 pm, 3.30 pm, 5 pm, 7 pm, 8.30 pm in Kannada, 10 pm and 11.30 pm.

The feast of Our Lady of Guide (Giad Saibin) will be celebrated on Thursday, 27th January 2011. Following the masses at 6.30 and 8 am, the solemn fest mass will be celebrated at 10 am by Rev. Fr. Francis Serrao S.J., Jesuit Provincial of Karnataka Province. There will be masses at 12.30 pm, 2.30 pm, 4 pm in Kannada and 5.30 pm.
